On September 2-3, Vice President of HUST and Dean of Tongji Medical College, Prof. CHEN Jianguo led a delegation of 14 people visited the University of Manchester, and jointly held the Manchester - HUST University Day. During the two days, the leaders and professors of the two parties carried out series of activities in the form of strategic dialogue, department bridge and academic seminars.

Vice President CHEN Jianguo met respectively with Prof. Luke Georghiou, the Executive Vice President of University of Manchester, and two other vice presidents Prof. Graham Lord and Prof. Martin Schroder. They had deep discussions on joint school, students and scholar exchange, management cadres' training and reached several important consensus.

In the morning of Sept.2, the opening ceremony of University Day and Intercollegiate Strategic Dialogue was held in the John Owens Building as scheduled.

Since 2017, substantial cooperation progress has been made in terms of talents fostering and scientific research in the field of computer, physics, chemistry, environment protection, nursing and other disciplines.

Last September, Prof. Nancy Rothwell, President of Manchester University, led a team to HUST and jointly hosted the first HUST-Manchester University Day. HUST delegation made this return visit to co-host the second University Day in the United Kingdom, aiming at strengthening mutual understanding, summarizing cooperation achievements and and looking forward to more future cooperation.
