On 20th March, six interns from different medical universities in Germany participated in a lecture held on 4th floor of Basic Medicine Building in Tongji Medical College. These medical students are doing their internships in affiliated Tongji Hospital in this March. They are from Charite Medical College, Duisburg-Essen University, University of Saarland and Wuerzburg University.
Springs now comes to Wuhan and all flowers in front of Prof. QIU Fazu's statue blossom prosperously full of vitality and hope, just like the friendship between TMC and unversities in Germany. Students watched a video specially prepared by Mr. CHEN Yinghan from Dean's Office in TMC, which tells the story of Prof. Erich Paulun, founder of Tongji Medical College. Then Mr. CHEN Yinghan showed a PPT about his father Prof. CHEN Ren, a famous doctor from Department of Ophthalmology. Prof. CHEN Ren has studied in five different medical universites in Germany, including LMU. These precious history materials leaves a deep impression on German students and also helps them have a better understanding of the German origin of TMC and friendship between China and Germany.
Then a lecture was held for German students. Mr. CHEN Gong, Vice Director of Dean's Office in TMC, hosted the lecture. Students shared their experience and feedbacks for medical internship in Tongji Hospital. After that, Mr. CHEN Gong and Ms. ZHANG Yingjie from International Exchange Office showed them along the history corridor of TMC. It is the first time that students come to know history and development of this more than 110 years old medical college.
Students also expressed their favor for Wuhan city and their feedbacks on internship. They are grateful to have this wonderful chance to do medical internship in Tongji Hospital. From this experience they have learned a lot. Tutoring doctors from all departments are very patient and helpful. We hope that through students' exchange the good relationship and cooperation between TMC and German medical universities can be deepened and be more prosperous in the near future.
