In recent years, Huazhong University of Science and Technology has accumulated certain advantages and characteristics in the field of neurological diseases and brain sciences. In order to enhance the in-depth exchanges and extensive cooperation in international and regional neuroscience research, we share cutting-edge research results and integrate domestic and foreign superior resources of top scientific research institutions to further promote the development of neuroscience in our school. From September 27 to 30, 2018, "The 4th International Conference on Neurological Diseases and the 2018 International Summit Forum on Brain Network Structure and Function" (2018ICBND) was successfully held in Wuhan New World Hotel. The conference was hosted by the Institute for Brain Research of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and was co-organized by the Chinese Neuroscience Society, the Hubei Physiology Society, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Department of Neurology of Wuhan Union Hospital, and the Department of Neurology of Wuhan Tongji Hospital. The meeting was funded by the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, the International Science and Technology Cooperation Program of Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau, and the the State Administration of Higher Foreign Experts Affairs of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The conference was presided over by Professor Lu Youming who is the director of Institute for Brain Research, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Mrs. Ge Lin who is the deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, and Professor Chen Jianguo who is the vice President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, attended the meeting and delivered a speech for the opening ceremony.

Fellows and experts from home and abroad
The conference also attracted nearly 400 scholars, teachers and students from all over the country. There are experts and professors from the older generation, as well as young scholars with years of strength, especially a large number of energetic graduate students. In the form of special reports, the conference focused on the theme of "brain network structure and function", targeting major neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and epilepsy, as well as depression, autism and other mental illnesses. The advanced progresses on neural circuits, neural networks and brain connectivity maps were displayed and discussed in-depth.
Delegates listened carefully to the report and asked questions
at the conference
Through this conference, delegates timely grasped the development of brain science, the most advanced development of neuroscience, and gained enlightenment in the basic research and clinical transformation of neurological diseases. The academic atmosphere of the conference is strong and the discussion is warm. It reflects the spirit of harmony, rigor, innovation, progress and collaboration. Undoubtedly, it is a grand event in the neuroscience community in China.
