Academician Wang Hongyang Analyzes the Present and Future of Precision Medical

At 16:30 P.M., June 19th, professor Wang Hongyang , the member of Chinese academy of engineering, expert of oncology and molecular biology gave a report entitled "the present and future of the precision medical" in the academic lecture hall of medical college.

Professor Wang is now the director of National Liver Cancer Science Center, International Cooperation Research Center for Biological Signal Transduction, the director and chief physician of Precision Medicine Center, the chairman of Precision Medicine Specialized Committee in Chinese Medical Doctor Association, also as the director of the Medical Department of National Natural Science Foundation of China. Professor Wang has long been engaged in the basic and clinical research of tumour and made great contribution to the signal network regulation of tumor, identification and application of new molecular markers of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Professor Wang Hongyang published more than 200 thesis in influential mainstream journals such as Cancer Cell、Nature Cell Biology、Nature Comm.、J.E.M、Gut、Gastroenterology、Hepatology and Oncogene. Recent 5 years 28 patents has been declared by Professor Wang, 12 of which are authorized (2 international patents). Hosted by Wang, Glypican-3 liver cancer detection and diagnosis kit is issued the third category of medical device registration certificate by China Food and Drug Administration( the first reagent kit that based on monoclonal antibody with completely proprietary property developed by our country ). Professor Wang has presided over 10 national infectious diseases major science and technology special items.
In January 2015, American put forward the plan of precision medical, which marked the arrival of the era of precision medical. It gives targeted treatments to patients by dividing them into different subgroups, which makes precision medical more operational and executive than traditional methods of treatments. Taking lung cancer as an example, Professor Wang Hongyang elaborated the principles of molecular biology of precision medical and introduces multi point sampling of lesion constructed phylogenetic tree and dynamic ctDNA evolutionary tracking method. She pointed that prognosis can be improved by further refinement of lung cancer classification. At last, Professor Wang introduced recent achievements in the liver cancer Laboratory.
During on-site questioning period, Professor Wang Hongyang gave answers patiently to the questions raised by present teachers and students about domestic application situation and safety of precision medical.
