March 31^st 2017, the Ministry of Education announced the list of the 2016 Chang Jiang Scholars Program. 12 scholars from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) were elected to the program, ranking 5^th among Chinese universities. A total of 159 Prof.s were appointed as distinguished Prof.s of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, among whom 5 were from HUST. Prof. Pengqian Fang (Social Medicine and Health Management) from School of Medicine and Health Management was appointed as a distinguished Prof. of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program.
