On July 13, 2022, a series of academic lectures on International Dental Research Salon sponsored by the School of Stomatology, Tongji Medical College of HUST, were successfully held. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Fang Yang, School of Dentistry, Nijmegen University of Netherlands. The online participants reached 140.

Prof. Fang Yang received her Ph.D degree from the National University of Singapore in 2005, and joined the Biomaterials Group of Radboudumc College of Dentistry in the Netherlands ever since. Her current research focuses on the development of nanofibers or nanoparticles as an extracellular matrix for bone and periodontal tissue regeneration. She is also interested in local administration to prevent implant-associated infections. She has published nearly 100 scientific articles and serves on the editorial board of Bioactive Materials.

Prof. Fang Yangdelivered a lecture entitled Local Biomolecule Delivery - A Solution for the Treatment of Periodontal Diseases, through which she introduced the latest research progress of periodontal disease treatment, and made a simple description of the correlation between material science and oral periodontal disease and their latest progress.

The interdisciplinary lecture attracted more than 140 teachers and students from the School of Stomatology of HUST and all over the country. The content was novel and colorful. After the lecture, the participants asked questions enthusiastically and had a heated and in-depth academic discussion.
