Associate Professor Chen Xi from Yale University Global Health Policy and Economics visited the College for academic exchange

On May 30, the 23rd Smart Health Forum, The Dynamic Impacts of Dementia on Preventive Care Utilization, was held in School of Medicine and Health Management, and Associate Professor Chen Xi of Yale University Global Health Policy and Economics was invited to give a lecture. Professor Ma Jingdong and Professor Wang Jing, Vice Dean of School of Medicine and Health Management, Professor Feng Zhunchun and Associate Professor Xiong Juyang from Department of Health Management, and other faculty members and graduate students from the School attended the lecture.

Starting from several cases of economic burden of disease and dementia, Prof. Chen Xi pointed out that dementia has become an important disease that threatens global health security, and emphasized the importance of identifying and discovering early signs of dementia and building systematic links between multiple diseases in theory and practice. Prof. Chen Xi identified the factors and heterogeneous characteristics of dementia in the current elderly population, and supported by a detailed and complete body of research that cognitive impairment in the elderly population significantly reduces individual preventive care.

This lecture is conducive to the deepening of academic research thinking and the expansion of international comparative vision of the faculty and students.
