From 28 to 29 March, Prof. Jon Frampton, the Vice President of University of Birmingham (UB) visited Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) , to promote the cooperatively-run undergraduate project of pharmacy. On the morning of 29th March, MA Jianhui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of HUST and Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji Medical College of HUST, met with Jon Frampton and his delegation.
On behalf of HUST, MA Jianhui extended a warm welcome to Jon Frampton and his delegation. He pointed out that HUST attaches great importance to the core partnership with UB. The undergraduate program in pharmacy jointly organized by the two universities is committed to cultivating pharmaceutical leading talents with solid academic knowledge and international competence, which will be a new model and highlight of the collaborations between the two universities. He further pointed out that he hoped to promote the in-depth exchange and integration of the two universities by relying on the cooperatively-run project, and to promote to produce more results in the joint construction of courses and cooperative research.
Jon Frampton briefly introduced the results of the exchanges during the visit as well as the preliminary concept of deepening the cooperation between the two universities in the field of medicine. He stated that the preparation of the cooperatively-run project in pharmacy was the main purpose of his visit. During the visit, they learned about the latest construction progress at the Junshan Campus of HUST and had in-depth communication with the project team of the School of Pharmacy and the Office of International Affairs on enrollment arrangements, course optimization, and project development planning. They were full of confidence in the development prospects of the project. He hoped to further expand the areas of cooperation and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in the fields of translational medicine and health information management.
On 28th March, Jon Frampton and his team visited Junshan Campus and had a discussion and exchange with the relevant persons in charge of the School of Pharmacy on the preparation and development of the cooperative school project.
