WUHAN, May 21 – School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical College of HUST formalized a new industry-education partnership today, as marked by the establishment of the "RWD Scholarship." Funded by a philanthropic 200,000 RMB (approx. $27,500) donation from RRD Life Science Company, the initiative aims to cultivate next-generation medical talents through strengthened university-corporate collaboration.

At the signing ceremony held in Tongji Medical College, Mr. QIN Xuanbin, Vice Chairman of Tongji Medical College and Chairman of School of Basic Medicine, highly spoke of the social responsibility and great achievements of the donor company. "This scholarship pushes forward our endeavor to build up a global first rate university and supports national health initiatives," Mr. QIN stated, emphasizing transparency of scholarship administration, in-depth industry-academia integration, and cultivation of medical professionals with great sense of social responsibilities. He further likened the partnership to a catalyst that promotes the nurturing of medical talents and “Healthy China” initiative.

MR. XIU Xianshuai, General Manager of RWD Life Science Company, said that the donation mirrored the corporate values, noting "It is such ethos, including 'Serving and giving back to society' that defines our company. Supporting foundational medical education fulfills our commitment to national talent cultivation." He proposed expanding collaboration into joint research, specialized talent nurturing, and technology commercialization.

In the ceremony, Prof. WANG Yugang, the vice dean, accepted the donation check and Mr. QIN presented a commemorative plaque to RWD Life Science. Subsequent discussions between school and corporate representatives explored the pathways to further cooperation, including graduate recruitment, joint R&D projects, and development of medical products. Both parties believe that sustained partnership will effectively align academic training with evolving requirements of healthcare sectors.


The event is an embodiment of RWD's mission of "Serving life and health with science and technology" and HUST's educational tenets of "academic excellence and innovation".

Ms. LUO Zhanping from RWD Life Science and faculty representatives from School of Basic Medicine also attended the ceremony.
