A delegation led by ZHAO Hongliang, the chief executive of Qiaokou District, visited Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) to discuss university-local government cooperation and urban renewal initiatives. WEN Jinyu, Vice President of HUST, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Qin Xuanbin, Deputy Party Secretary of Tongji Medical College of HUST.

  WEN Jinyu expressed gratitude for Qiaokou District's longstanding support to the medical college. He noted that since relocation to Qiaokou District in the 1950s, Tongji Medical College of HUST has made significant contributions to regional healthcare development and the well-being of local residents. With strong support from the district government, the college has consistently played a leading role in the university's pursuit of world-class status. He expressed the hope that both sides would further leverage their respective strengths, align needs precisely, and jointly create new models and benchmarks for university-community collaboration.

  ZHAO Hongliang stated that the visit aimed to provide effective support and services for the medical college's development while seeking the university's input into deepening cooperation. He explained that Qiaokou authorities are currently pushing forward a comprehensive growth of a modern urban district and will actively strengthen the support to the urban renewal of the area surrounding the medical college. He also expressed hope for further cooperation to facilitate the implementation of more growth-promoting initiatives in Qiaokou.

  During the symposium, a representative from Zhongcheng Company of the Wuhan Urban Construction Group presented a campus renewal plan for Tongji Medical College. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on specific matters, including the expansion of university-local government cooperation.

  Prior to the meeting, attendees conducted an on-site inspection of the medical college's staff housing area. Following the symposium, WEN Jinyu chaired a special session on the revision of overall development plan of the Tongji Medical College campus. During the session, he collected feedbacks about the Master Plan of Optimizing and Revising the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Campus (2021–2035) and outlined next steps of the revising process.

  The meeting was attended by other leaders from the Qiaokou District Government, heads of functional departments, as well as heads of relevant functional departments from the HUST and Tongji Medical College of HUST.
