Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) has officially welcomed its incoming Class of 2026 with open arms. Over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate medical students arrived at HUST and embarked on their new journeys. Tongji Medical College orchestrated a comprehensive orientation program, coordinated by the Office of Medical Student Affairs and supported by all medical departments, to ensure a seamless transition for the newcomers of its community.

University leaders visited the orientation sites to greet students and their families. On August 31, Party Secretary LIU Bo and President YOU Zheng toured the welcome stations at Zisong Square and Einstein Square, respectively, where they examined registration procedures and talked with new students. They encouraged students to remain dedicated to their specialties, pursue knowledge diligently, and stick to their commitment to public health. Deputy Party Secretary ZHANG Yao and Vice President FENG Dan attended the event.

On September 1, Vice President of HUST and Party Secretary of Tongji Medical College of HUST ZHANG Yonghui led a delegation to the college's orientation site to review graduate program enrollment figures, registration protocols, and current status. She conversed with incoming students, posed for commemorative photographs, and encouraged them to approach their graduate studies with renewed focus and collaborative spirit.

The orientation featured photo walls and backdrops, alongside a live photo stream capturing the students' first moments on campus. In addition to university-issued welcome gift packs, each medical school and the University Graduate Student Association prepared welcome packages containing school supplies, cultural and creative merchandise, and practical items, adding a ceremonial touch to the students' campus debut.

A dedicated team of volunteers in red vests worked across train stations, registration points, and dormitory areas, guiding newcomers and embodying the spirit of dedication, friendship, mutual aid, and progress. Their enthusiasm helped convey the warmth of the Tongji community to the incoming students.

The college's administrative departments, freshman advisors, faculty advisors, and student advisors remained on-site throughout the entire orientation period to facilitate a smooth transition. Student affairs leaders and department heads also visited dormitories to check on the new arrivals.

As the Class of 2026 medical students start their academic journeys, the university community is ready to give full support to the pursuits of their dreams. The orientation marked the beginning of a promising new chapter for these future healthcare professionals.
