A delegation from the School of Pharmacy, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), led by Dean HUANG Kun and Party Secretary HUANG Rui, visited biomedical companies and research institutions in Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai to strengthen industry-academia-research collaboration and reconnect with alumni.

The tour began on August 3 at the Nanjing Regional Technology Transfer and Commercialization Center for Biomedicine and Jiangsu Gem Pharmatech Co., Ltd. The Center, a national-level platform co-established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Provincial Government, is designed to address industrialization bottlenecks in university research. Gem Pharmatech, a high-tech enterprise specializing in experimental animal models and non-clinical research, hosted discussions on collaborative research.
On August 4, the delegation paid a visit to Zhejiang Bioray Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. based in Hangzhou, an innovative biopharmaceutical company with full-chain capabilities in immunotherapy. The team toured modern production workshops and had discussions with the company's leadership on future cooperation in industry-academia-research collaboration.
On August 5, the delegation toured Jemincare Shanghai Pharmaceutical Industrial Park and its Innovation R&D Headquarters, learning about the company's strategic layout for innovative drug R&D. In the afternoon, they visited FOSUN Pharma, a global healthcare group spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare services. Both parties explored future collaboration opportunities.
On August 6, the delegation visited Innovent Biologics' Global R&D Center, which focuses on oncology, immunology, and metabolism, engaging in discussions with alumni and key R&D personnel. The last institution they visited was Zhangjiang R&D Center of Hengrui Medicine, a key platform for global innovation strategy featuring cutting-edge technologies in small molecules, gene therapy, and cell therapy. Discussions centered on joint talent development and industry-education integration.

Through on-site observations and roundtable discussions, the delegation assessed real R&D needs on the front lines of the innovative drug industry, built connections for university-industry research collaboration and talent development, and reconnected with alumni in the region. Moving forward, the School will translate these results into specific efforts for talent development and scientific research, deepen industry-education integration, and promote cooperation among talent cultivation, research commercialization, and the high-quality development of the biopharmaceutical industry.
