Hubei Cancer Hospital (Hubei Cancer Research Institute), founded in 1973, is a large-scale class three A cancer specialized hospital directly under the Hubei Provincial Health Commission, integrating prevention, medical treatment, rehabilitation, scientific research and teaching.It is also the sister Hospital of the U.S. Warren Buffet cancer center, cancer center of Hubei province, and the supporting unit of cancer prevention office of Hubei province, and takes the lead in the quality control of cancer medicine in Hubei Province.The hospital has national drug clinical trial base, postdoctoral mobile station, designated hospital of medical insurance in Hubei Province and Wuhan City, and designated hospital of new rural cooperative medical care system.

Located at No. 116 Zhuodaoquan South Road, Hongshan District, Wuhan, China, the hospital is adjacent to Nanhu Lake in the south, Xiongchu Street in the north, the core area of Wuhan University and close to Wuhan-China Optics Valley. The hospital covers an area of 154,000 square meters with a construction area of 130,000 square meters and a green area of 90,000 square meters. It is the only model greening unit in the hospital in Wuhan with verdant trees, beautiful scenery, beautiful lakes and mountains,birds singing and flowers fragrant.

The hospital, characterized by a full range of disciplines, has 2,000 authorized beds, 31 clinical departments (wards), 11 medical and technical departments, and 10 basic and clinical research laboratories.In 2013, the hospital was rated as the national key clinical specialty of oncology, and the national project hospital for improving the ability of difficult diseases diagnosis and treatment. General surgery, radiology, pathology and ultrasound are all provincial key clinical specialties.

The hospital is equipped with a large number of advanced equipment. It now has six electronic linear accelerators (including the first image guidance in Central and South China- Rotational Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy System and the Edge Therapy System), PET-CT, 3.0T magnetic resonance, high-end energy spectrum CT, large aperture analog CT, ECT, large plate DSA, etc.

The hospital now has a total of 1,419 people, 82 people with senior titles and 169 people with associatesenior titles.

Aiming at the latest development of international and domestic cancer medicine, the hospital actively researches and applies contemporary advanced medical technologies and methods, adopts the international advanced MDT treatment concept, adheres to the principle of systematic, standardized and comprehensive treatment, and takes the road of treating tumors by combining multidisciplinary, Chinese and Western medicine, gradually forming obvious advantages of each discipline in the province and abroad. The comprehensive treatment level of some tumors, including head and neck tumors, breast tumors, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, gynecological tumors, urological tumors, malignant lymphoma and others, ranks among the top in China.

The hospital keeps good cooperative relations with many world class cancer research institutes, including MD. Anderson Cancer Center,Medical college of Nebraska University,New Jersey Robert Wood John Medical college,Medical college of Nancy-Metz University and Australian Cancer Research Center.The national core journal “Cancer Prevention and Control Research” sponsored by the hospital has been indexed in many international databases such as CSI, CA, ULRICH PD, CABI, JST, and Global Health.
