From Aug. 6 to Aug. 22, 2019, three undergraduate students Xu Ruoqing, Xu Shaojie and Zhang Kehan from Grade 17 of Basic Medical school, under the leadership of tutor Li Shinian, participated in a 17-day summer camp project at Cambridge University.
Cambridge University is one of the oldest universities in the world and one of the top universities. Cambridge University is composed of 31 independent colleges which enjoys a very long history of more than 800 years. Celebrities from all walks of life, such as Newton, Hawking and Xu Zhimo, graduated from Cambridge University, including 99 Nobel Prize winners. The outstanding achievements of Cambridge are closely related to the classical educational model. Cambridge University has always maintained the traditional college system, strictly controlled the enrollment scale, and trained every student in the most elite and personalized way of education. In 17 days, we have had the privilege of experiencing this teaching mode closely and deeply.
The Summer Camp consists of academic learning and cultural experience.
Teachers teaching medical courses are outstanding scholars who have made great achievements in their fields of study. They gave us insight into biomedical science and clinical medicine from a unique perspective. Although this is the first time that we learn professional knowledge in pure English context, we quickly find our own way of learning under the vivid and interesting explanations of our teachers. The cutting-edge knowledge has increased our knowledge, broadened our horizons, and given us a new understanding of medicine.
We also had several cultural courses. Teachers use their enthusiasm to motivate us, not only to impart some practical skills (such as interview, academic writing), but also to guide and encourage us from the psychological aspects, leading us to set up enthusiasm and goals for life.

In addition to course learning, we also had rich and colorful cultural experience activities. We deeply felt the idyllic beauty of Cambridge University, the ancient architectural art and the long history of humanities. We also had the opportunity to visit the famous Oxford University and the beautiful London City. All these experiences gives us a deeper sense of the charming British culture.

At the end of the project, we attended a traditional and formal high-table dinner. It is a great honor for us to accept our certificate of graduation on the stage. The certificate is a testimony to our good memories and growth at Cambridge University.

Thank you so much to our school and college for giving us this great opportunity to study abroad. This study tour will surely become a new starting point for our long journey of medical education in the future.
