Professor Bin Zhang visit and academic exchange in our school

Invited by our dean Professor Zhanchun Feng, Associate Professor from Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, USA visited our school from June 30 - July 3. Firstly, Professor Bin Zhang had a discussion with the leadership team of the school of medicine and health management, exchanging in-depth views on main research areas, project cooperation and joint training programs. The participants of this session are dean Professor Zhanchun Feng, associate dean Professor Hongbing Tao, Professor Jingdong Ma.

From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on July 2, Bin Zhang gave a keynote speech entitled "go to YouTube & see me tomorrow: social media & self-care of chronic conditions", which figured out three research questions: how can we measure the medical information encoded in patient education video quality, how can we measure user engagement with YouTube videos, how does the medical information encoded in a video affect user engagement. Professor Bin Zhang also gave a brief explanation of bidireation long short-term memory, which was used in the research to extract medical terms.
