From June 15^th to July 19^th, 2019, Professor John Fu came to our university and delivered six lectures about health statistics. During this time, he had an in-depth discussion with many of our school's research groups.

Dr. Fu is Chair and Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Saint Louis University. He has published many research papers in a variety of professional journals and presided over several research projects.

Based on the needs of teachers and students, Professor Fu taught the application of the Multi-level Regression Model in cross-section design and application of the Growth Curve Model in Panel Data through the Health Management Methodology Training Course. He also explained in detail what students were confused about in class. With his rich teaching and research experience, Professor Fu combines the growth curve model and multi-level regression with medical management research to answer questions and solve problems for students in research and study.

Every lecture had about 200 people, including teachers and students from all over the country. During the lectures, teachers and students enthusiastically asked questions and participated in the discussion. The participants thought that the content of the explanation was practical and moderate. The methods that professor Fu taught in the lectures could directly apply to the current research projects of teachers and students. The lectures were well received highly praised. Many students also actively consulted about health statistics after class.

Dr. Fu also participated in the academic exchange activities of several research groups in our institute and discussed the methodology of existing research projects and provided technical consultation on research design, concept measurement, statistical analysis.

Besides, Professor John Fu also gave guidance on the scientific research design of our school teachers, postdoctoral researchers, and postgraduate students. He gave one-to-one guidance on the writing and publication of related researches and papers of many young teachers and postgraduate students in our college.  Professor Fu combined the corresponding research design or research papers to improve the ability of teachers and students to discuss statistical results in-depth through the correction of statistical methods and data analysis problems misunderstood by teachers and students. These are all conducive to the scholars of our institute to contribute to the international high-level academic journals.

During this visit, he has made many students show respects to his excellent academic and scientific research capabilities. Many teachers and students have reached a good intention to cooperate with him in the future.
