Visit and Communication with the Centre for Social Research in Health / Social Policy Research Centre of University of New South Wales

From September 9, 2019 to September 11, 2019, deputy Dean Hongbing Tao, Associate Professor Zhiguo Zhang, Associate Professor Lining Shen, master students Chenghong Li and Menghan Guo of the School of Medicine and Health Management of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, were invited to attend the 2019 ASPC at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney. In ASPC parallel session of China’s social policy, Chenghong Li and Menghan Guo presented their studies in the 2019 Chinese Social Policy stream in 15 minutes, respectively. Chenghong Li’s topic was " Impact of the new healthcare reform in China on the equity of health resources allocation based on segmented regression model ". Menghan Guo made a report titled " Changes in incidence and mortality of cervical cancer in Rural China (2004-2017) after introduction of a screening programme".

  After the conference, on September 12, 2019, they communicated with core members of the Centre for Social Research in Health (CSRH) and the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) of UNSW, including Professor Carla Treloar (Director of CSRH/SPRC), Professor Marc Williams (Associate Dean International, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Mr. David Cami (Executive Director, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Associate Professor Bingqin Li, Associate Professor Limin Mao, postdoctoral Qian Fang, Ph.D. students Defeng Jin, Cliff Chen, and Zihong Deng, respectively. The topic pertained to talent training, scientific research, consultation of decision making, etc. Finally, a preliminary agreement was achieved about the specific content, forms and mechanism of the strategic collaboration platform, talent training and teachers and students exchange.

In general, this visit has laid a foundation for further cooperation between our school and CSRH/SPRC.
