The independent innovation training program for students is an important part of the "undergraduate teaching quality and teaching reform project". In order to cultivate students' innovative spirit and innovative ability, effectively promote the development of independent innovation training program, and standardize the management of independent innovation projects for school students, the regulation is formulated.
Chapter I General Provisions
Article 1 In order to further mobilize students' initiative, enthusiasm and creativity in learning, stimulate students' innovative thinking and innovative awareness, and continuously improve their innovative practical ability, the school decided to implement the School of Medicine and Health Management Student Independent Innovation Training Program (Undergraduate Innovation Program for short).
Article 2 The School of Medicine and Health Management adopts the special declaration and project establishment system, and actively encourages school students to use their spare time to conduct independent experiments and process training through the procedures of student application, open project approval, merit-based funding, and standardized management, under the guidance of tutors.
Article 3 The Faculty formulates relevant policies and working procedures, and the Student Office is mainly responsible for the publicity and mobilization of Undergraduate Innovation Program. The management personnel of the School are responsible for organizing the declaration, evaluation and management of Undergraduate Innovation Program. The guidance teachers and students are responsible for the specific implementation of Undergraduate Innovation Program.
Article 4 The School shall set up a special fund for Undergraduate Innovation Program to support and reward outstanding achievements and instructors.
Chapter II: Declaration and Review
Article 5 Undergraduate students who have a strong interest in scientific research or creative inventions can form a project team (the members shall not exceed 5 people) to register as individuals or teams, and each group shall independently choose a tutor to guide the team. Each project can be equipped with 1-2 tutors with intermediate or above titles, and the number of guidance projects per tutor per academic year shall not exceed 3. Participants should be in good health, disciplined, responsible and collaborative; have interest in scientific research and have a strong sense of innovation. The student in charge of the independent innovation project under research cannot declare.
Article 6 The project leader shall fill in Application Form for Independent Innovation Training Program, and complete the work of independent topic selection, independent experiment, organization and implementation, and writing summary reports under the guidance of the tutors.
Article 7 The school conducts a preliminary review of the declared projects, organizes experts to review (written review and defense links), selects and recommend projects to university.
Chapter III Implementation and Management
Article 8 In principle, the participants and research contents shall not be arbitrarily changed. If it is truly necessary to change due to special reasons, it shall be reported to the Teaching Office of the School for the record after the consent of the tutor.
Article 9 Tutors guide students to conduct scientific research, and periodically organize students to discuss and exchange.
Article 10 The school shall conduct a mid-term inspection of the project. The project leader shall submit the interim progress report form on time and participate in the mid-term review organized by the school. Funding is stopped for projects that are not submitted on time or have no significant progress.
Article 11 Undergraduate Innovation Program are divided into three categories: innovation training projects, entrepreneurial training projects and entrepreneurial practice projects. The research cycle of the general innovation training and entrepreneurship training projects is 1 year, and the entrepreneurial practice projects is 2 years. For projects that have expired and have not been closed not approved by the supervisor leadership, the project initiator or tutor shall be disqualified from the project declaration within the next year.
Article 12 Acceptance Procedure for Undergraduate Innovation Programs
1. When the project is completed during the implementation period, the students and tutors participating in the project will jointly fill in the Application Form of Undergraduate Innovation Program Completion, submit a complete print of the written summary report to the school, and submit a certain form of information that can reflect the results, such as investigation reports, developed software or systems, research papers, etc., which will be reviewed by experts organized by the school.
2. If the project cannot be concluded on time due to legitimate reasons during the implementation period, the project organizer may explain the reasons in written form and apply for extension, which shall be reviewed and signed by the tutor and reported to the school for approval. The extension period is not more than one year.
3. In principle, the final acceptance of the final project is carried out before the middle of June each year, and the projects approved or participated by the graduating students must complete the final work before the end of May.
Article 13 Any student who participates in and completes the innovation program may recognize credits in accordance with the credit system of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The method of calculating the workload of tutor is implemented with reference to the relevant indicators of the year-end assessment of the school.
Article 14 The funds for undergraduate innovation program shall be planned by the school, and the school shall designate a special person to be responsible for management. The project funds are mainly used for the materials required for research, copy and print, experimental materials, research travel, and thesis layout.
Article 15 Strictly abide by the school's financial system, and the total amount of reimbursement funds shall not exceed the total amount of funds. The reimbursement form must be signed by the project leader and the tutor, and can only be reimbursed by the Finance Office after being reviewed by the office of the school.
Chapter IV Supplementary Provisions
Article 16 The office of school shall be responsible for the interpretation of these regulations, and these regulations will be revised and improved according to the implementation situation.
Article 17 The regulation takes effect as from today. If there is any inconsistency of regulations between school and university, the provisions of the university shall prevail.
