Dr. Jingdong Ma  has been a faculty in Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology since 2002. Now he works as an associate professor and department chair in the Department of Health Information Management in school of Health Management. He is also assistant dean of the school. Dr. Ma is a board member of Chinese Health Informatics Association. He serves as committee member of Society of Medical Informatics in China. Dr. Ma got master degree in maternal care and child health in 2002, and doctorate degree in health policy in 2007. He worked and was trained as a Takemi Fellow in Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from 2009 to 2010. Dr. Ma was engaged in the training program in health service research initiated by China Medical Board in 2008 and 2011. Dr. Jingdong Ma is a specialist in healthcare policy and health information management. His research interests focus on E-Health & chronic care service innovation. He has received more than 10 grants from National Science Foundation Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission. He is a principal investigator in National Health Information Standards Development Program. He is also a principal investigator in The Health Information Exchange Program in Hubei Province. Currently, Dr. Ma’s work on expert systems for community health based on domain ontology and big data analytics. Dr. Ma has published around 60 articles on international and Chinese peer-reviewed journals. He is the chief editor or co-chief editor of several textbooks. Dr. Ma received second prize of Hubei Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 2009.
