On the morningof September 29^th2021,the School of Nursing, Tongji Medical College of HUST and the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of National University of Singapore（NUS）gathered online, to jointly review the interactions in the past, discuss further steps to strengthen collaboration in the future, and sign the “Memorandum of Agreement”. MAO Jing, Dean of the School of Nursing, XU Hui , the Chair of the School of Nursing Council, Emily Ang, Head of ALCNS, and relevant administrative faculty of the two institutions attended the ceremony. The meeting was co-hosted by WANG Haikun, Director of Office of International Affairs of HUST and WU Xi Vivien, Assistant Professor of ALCNS.

In her speech, Professor MAO Jing pointed out that NUS is one of the world’s best universities. HUST takes NUS as an important partner under the The Belt and Roadinitiative. The School of Nursing and ALCNS have common grounds and complementarities in disciplinary construction and development,can learn from each other in so many fieldsand jointly make more achievement in medicine.It is expected that both sides further exploreand jointly carry out more specific programs by signing this agreement.

Professor Emily Ang then made a speech on behalf of ALCNS. She mentioned that HUST has earned an impressive reputation of academic excellence,is a strong partnerfor NUS to explore collaboration opportunities with. ALCNS is committed to developing nursing leaders and researchers who can lead change in an increasingly complex healthcare environment,has earned global reputationas well. The missions from both institutions are aligned to pursue excellence by enhancing knowledge,fostering collaborationand research effort to benefit mankind.

Associate Professor HU Cuihuan presented the history,academic staff,international exchange and cooperation of the School of Nursing to the guests. Assistant Professor WU Xi Vivienintroduced the nursing courses and the nursing research program of ALCNS.

Later, MAO Jing, Dean of the School of Nursing and Emily Ang, Head of ALCNS signed the “Memorandum of Agreement” together online, marking the formal establishment of collaborative partnership between the two institutions.

In the discussion,representatives from both sides shared their proposalsfor further collaboration base on the agreement. Thetwo institutions unanimously expressed that they would further strengthen exchanges and cooperationin the future through online courses,studentco-training alongwith other ways.
