In the morning of December 2nd, 2017-2018 the Department of Forensic Medicine Alumni Fund Freshmen Scholarship Award Ceremony was successfully held at the multimedia room on the 7th floor of the Department of Forensic Medicine. Dean of Forensic Science- Daixin Huang, Party Committee Secretary-Xuemei Ren, Deputy Dean-Yiwu Zhou, Chairman of Union-Shaohua Yi, Office Director-Yan Liu, Advisors and undergraduate students and graduate students attended the Award Ceremony. Haibo Qi, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, hosted the event.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Xuemen Ren announced her decision to resign. She emphasized that the Alumni Grand Fund was raise by all outstanding Alumni, who always give out their best wishes to our students. Meanwhile, this honor not only encourages the awarded students, but also motivates all the students on the way to pursue academic success. Secretary Ren pointed out that the Alumni Grand Fund is unique because it awards all the students who meet the standards regardless of the number of the students, so that students will always be proud of the honor even after they graduated and will keep supporting Alumni Grant Fund with grateful hearts.
During the ceremony, Deputy Dean Yiwu Zhou read out the Award list. Daixin Huang, Yiwu Zhou, Xuemei Ren, Shaohua Yi present the honors to award Students within big round of applause on site.
Next, the winner of Innovative Science Award Chao Xiao and the winner of Annual Academic Reward and Freshman Scholarship Jingzhou He gave out their speeches. Xiao Chao addressed that he sees the awards as the credits he achieved this year, more importantly, he keeps the awards as key motivations to inspire his future exploration in the field of academic work, career developments and science study. He concluded that the friendship and teamwork among classmates, the resolution and dedication in Forensic Science from School Leadership and all the supports from our alumni constitute our Alumni Grant Fund. In retrospect, he mentioned his 11 years long live in Wuhan with hesitation and frustration. However, he recognized that the Scientific prominent development is always bonding with the development of our country and people’s daily life. At that moment, Xiao Chao felt empowered by his responsibility and decided to dedicate his life in Forensic Science.
Jingzhou He recalled that he found great interests and passion in Forensic Science before he went to university, therefore Forensic Choice was his top major choice. And He feels great encouragement when he won the Freshman Scholarship. He insisted students should always keep true on their ways to success and never forget our first aspiration. Students should put full effort on every courses, and never stop pursuing the dream.
Dean Daixin Huang gave out his speech in the last section. He spoke of past two Homecoming events. Most of our Alumni play as important roles in different field of forensic science, therefore Huang saw the future of the China Forensic Science from new classes. Meanwhile, Huang claimed two of his expects. First, Student should always show respect and gratefulness to teachers and classmates, teamwork is essential and major; Secondly, students should always keep Science integrity in research work and revere the Law throughout career. More importantly, forensic physician were the main force of the state to govern the country according to law. He hoped that everyone will play a good role in the role of respecting the law, learning the law, obeying the law, and using the law. And he hoped everyone will become a faithful believer in constitution, a practitioner of ‘rule of law’, and a solid defender of the interests of the people.
This is the fourth year of the department of Forensic Medicine Alumni Grant Fund and Freshmen Scholarship Award Ceremony since 2015. Alumni Grant Fund Scholarship shows motivation, hope and heritage. We saw the science integrity, justice discipline, solitude and dedication from many outstanding alumni, and these alumni will always lead us to the future of Chinese Forensic Science.
