At the beginning of the new year in 2023, the Institute of Reproductive Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) got good news. Professor Gil Mor from the Wayne State University (WSU) was endowed as the Advisory Professor of HUST.

In 2015, Prof. Gil Mor was appointed as the guest professor at HUST. He served as the tenured professor and the Director of Division of Reproductive Sciences, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Yale University School of Medicine (2000-2018). Since 2019, Prof. Gil Mor has served as the John M. Malone Jr. MD, Endowed Chair and Scientific Director of The C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Chair of the Department of Physiology, Wayne State University School of Medicine. Whether at Yale or WSU, Prof. Mor has actively promoted the cooperation between China and US and has made great contributions. Under his unremitting efforts and promotion, the high-level exchanges between the two sides have been frequent and successful, the exchanges between the faculties and students have been carried out steadily, and a university-level cooperation agreement has been signed. As a result, excellent teaching and scientific research talents were cultivated for our university, and excellent achievements in scientific research between the two sides were achieved, which greatly consolidate and deepen the friendship between the two universities and the two countries.

As the Advisory Professor of HUST, Prof. Gil Mor will further deepen the communications and cooperation between the two sides, including promoting the establishment of the International Joint Laboratory on Reproduction and Health, jointly holding high-level international conferences, cultivating more innovative talents, and promoting outstanding young talents to join HUST and helping more scholars to participate and serve in the international academic organizations.
