In 1998, after graduating from Tongji Medical University (now Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology), ZHU Lan joined the Xuhui District Rihui Hospital (now Xietu Street Community Health Service Center).In 2009, she was awarded "Excellent Construction Team Member" by Shanghai Health System Construction Aid Front Working Group. In 2011, she received her master's degree in internal medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She is now the team leader of Xuhui District Community Health Service Center, the chief physician of general practice, and the academic leader of Xuhui District. She was awarded the Top 10 General Practitioners of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the National Most Beautiful Doctor in 2016, and the National Women's Model for Merit Achievement.
ZHU Lan stresses great importance to scientific research. As an academic leader, she focuses on effective prevention and control of chronic diseases, actively explored a new type of group intervention management of chronic diseases, and undertook 8 municipal and district-level research projects. She first proposed and established the family health assessment index system in China, which has been promoted in 13 community health service centers.
