From 1955 to 1958, he worked in Beijing Central People's Hospital. From 1959 to 2005, he served as deputy director and director of Peking University People’s Hospital. From 1962 to 2005, he worked at Peking University People's Hospital. Worked in the blood laboratory of the hospital. From 1978 to 1980, he served as the deputy chief physician of the Department of Internal Medicine, Peking University People's Hospital. In 1980, he went to the Royal College of Physicians and Continuing Education Hammersmith Hospital for advanced studies.
