Undergraduate Program for Specialty in MBBS (6-year Schooling)
I. ProgramObjectives
This program aims at cultivating elementary doctors of high quality who can engage in medical practice with effectiveness and security after graduation under the guidance of senior doctors, and have proper foundation to further study through their lives and make advanced study in a certain discipline field of the medical science.
II.LearningOutcomes
Students of this specialty should master basic theory, knowledge and skills of medicine required
for medical practice and possess good thought and morals and career attitude so as to lay a firm foundation for the continued education after graduation.

Grasp various kinds of pathogenic factors of common diseases,frequently-occurring diseases(including mental diseases)atdifferentstagesof thehuman body, realizetheinfluenceofenvironmental factors, social factorsandbehavior psychological factors ontheformation and developmentofdiseases,andrealizetheimportance of diseaseprevention.
4. Graspthepathogenesis,clinicalmanifestationsandprinciplesfordiagnosis, preventionandtreatmentof common diseases andfrequently-occurringdiseasesatdifferent stagesofthehumanbody.
5. Graspthebasicknowledgeofpharmacologyandprinciplesofrationalclinicaluse ofdrugs.
6. Grasp normal gestationandchildbirth,obstetricalemergency cases, antenatalandpostpartumhealthcareprinciplesandmedicalknowledgeoffamilyplanning.
7. Grasp theprinciplesfor healtheducation,disease preventionandscreeningandpossessthe relevant knowledge of alleviating illnessesanddisablementandpromoting rehabilitationandhospicenursing.

X. Explanations
1. Toensuretheeffective communicationbetween students and patients, coursesinthe firstandsecond year willbetaughtinEnglish; the thirdandfourthyearwillbebilingual teaching;thefifthandsixth year willbetaughtinChinese.
2. Clinicalcoursesconsistoftheoryteachingandclinicalclerkship.The main fourcourseswilltakethemodeofbedsideteachingandclinicalclerkshipwith 36weeksintotal,12weeksforinternal medicine;12weeksforSurgery;6weeksforGynecologyandObstetrics;6weeksforPediatricsduringthe8thand9thsemesters.OphthalmologysOtolaryngologysDermatologyandVenereologysNeurologyandPsychiatrysLemology(InfectiousDiseases)sStomatologysEmergencyMedicineandRehabilitationMedicinewillbefinishedduringthe10thsemestersthenenterthestageofclinicalpractice.(Nosummerandwinterholidayforclinicalcoursesandinternshipfromthe8thsemester.)
3. Thecourses of PreventiveMedicine include:the labor hygieneandoccupational diseases,nutrient hygiene, environmental hygiene, children’sand women’shealth,andclinicalepidemiology.
4. The courses of Health Management include:healthlaw, health management, health economicsand communityhealth,etc.
5. Thestudentswhohavefinished thecoursesrequired by the TeachingPlan andpassedtheGraduation Examination willbeawardedtheDiplomaaswellas theBachelor’s DegreeinMedicinewhenhe/she meetstherequirementsofRegulations ConcerningAcademicDegreesin thePeople’sRepublic of China.TheEnglish version couldbetranslatedas MBBS(BachelorofMedicine&BachelorofSurgery).
